The cast on TV shows including The Office, Bionic Woman and 30 Rock were informed that they will be suspended for five weeks.
This is the result of an ongoing strike by members of the Writer's Guild of America.
The cast on these shows will be given half of their normal pay during the duration of their suspension by Universal Studios. TV hit shows Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy are among the productions that have already been affected by the strike. Other studios, including Warner Bros. TV may do the same as Universal Studios within the next few weeks.
These suspensions may affect who will be on the shows when (or if) they return to TV with new episodes. This is not a funny situation for actors nor TV fans. It seems that we will be watching even more reruns in the upcoming weeks. It may be time to break out the DVDs and popcorn.
