In this weeks Monday Movie Meme, The Bumbles welcomes participants to share "favorite moments, memories or films featuring Katharine Hepburn" but I'm not too familiar with this actress. Now, Audrey Hepburn rings the bell, but Katharine Hepburn? Nope! While doing some brief reading up on her filmography to find out who she is, I noticed that she did that movie called "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" with Sidney Poitier.
Even though I read about this movie somewhere, maybe in some type of magazine or newspaper article around the time that "Guess Who" with Ashton Kutcher and Bernie Max was released, I still never watched the movie and vaguely familiar with it. That leaves me to highlighting the only milestone moment that would be deemed as a favorite for many film fanatics and fans of the actress in general.....and this would be her commemorative stamp.
In March 2010, the U.S. Postal Service issued a stamp honoring Katharine Hepburn as part of their Legends of Hollywood series. Later that Month, The Kent State University Museum adopted it as the official stamp for their exhibit dedicated to Hepburn's costumes that she wore in Broadway and film productions. The stamp was used on all correspondence related to the exhibition.
So after trying to learn more about Katharine Hepburn, I also find out that there was a Hollywood legends stamp series that I also knew nothing about? Boy am I behind on the news....I could've used some Marilyn Monroe, Judy Garland AND...Audrey Hepburn stamps!
