My Favorite Horror Movie Bad Guys #amblogging #meme #dvds #movies #film

Monday Movie Meme

It’s a quite festive day for those who have been following along with the Monday Movie Meme, because Dale at Smurfin the Web selected this week’s meme to go with the theme of Halloween:

Things That Go Bump In The Night

Today, Dale asks “What are your favorite horror movie bad guys?”

On the surface, this question is not difficult to answer or rather, it shouldn’t be but horror is among my least favorite genres of film, so I’d be hard pressed to find any bad guys from these types of movies that are worth a mention. I’m still trying to find the time and moxie to watch the "1408" and "Hostel" DVDs that have been sitting on my table for weeks. Luckily for the sake of participating in this week’s meme, however, I was able to come up with a few selections based on all of the horror movies that I’ve watched since childhood.

Freddy Kruger in “Nightmare on Elm Street”

Monday Movie Meme,Movies

Despite being a child killing scumbag, he is also funny and made it easier to watch horror movies without worrying about having really bad nightmares. It would be entertaining to watch a fan-made YouTube video that bounces back and forth between his one-liners and those of Horatio Caine from “CSI: Miami.” In fact, it would probably work if Horatio’s lines came after Freddys in scenes where this horror movie bad guy gets injured or is put in a compromising position. Freddy Kruger is a horror movie bad guy who maintains some level of coolness to him. I mean, what other horror movie leading man has his own theme song? Is it as catchy as “1-2, Freddy’s coming for you...”?

Seth Brundle in “The Fly"

Monday Movie Meme,Movies

I LOVED this movie and must have watched it over a dozen times when it aired on television, during my late childhood and early teen years. Jeff Goldblum played the hell out of his role and Geena Davis became my most favorite actress ever, probably because for some time, she was the only one that I was familiar with because of "The Fly.” Unfortunately, this movie started to gross me out as I got older and now I rarely watch it....at least not around any meal times. However, I would still play it on TV as background ambiance though! This reminds me....I don’t own the DVD. I’ll have to add this to my DVD collection.

What are YOUR favorite horror movie bad guys?

Movie Cars Headlining the Show #amblogging #moviememe #blogmeme

Monday Movie Meme

This week’s Monday Movie Meme has me thinking about that “Drive” lawsuit going on, as Dale over at Smurfin the Web says “The Car’s the Star." Dale invites participants to "give me some that you like where a car is one of the central characters in the film." So folks, here are my selections for this week’s meme.

Monday Movie Meme,Movies

1971 Lincoln Continental in “The Car”

This vehicle took all the luxury out of owning or coming into contact with a Lincoln, after terrorizing residents of a small town. If the “The Car” is mean enough to scare Jack Bauer,I say it’s definitely a movie star worth mentioning.

Monday Movie Meme,Movies

1966 Ford Thunderbird Convertible in “Thelma & Louise”

Although the main characters played by Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis were part of all the action in this movie, their vacation-turned-getaway-car became an essential item in the story. I like “Thelma & Louise” the most out of the films listed for this monday movie meme topic.

What Movie Cars that were central characters come to YOUR mind?

Filming in the Nude #atthemovies #movierentals #amblogging

Monday Movie Meme

Happy Columbus day everyone! As a result of my tardiness last week, Dale at Smurfin the Web was kind enough to get a Monday Movie Meme rolling with some great sports movies. Today, I present to you this week’s brand spankin’ (no pun intended, you just wait and see) new meme topic.....In the Buff. Share on your blog or in the comments section, movies about nudity and/or movies featuring naked characters. Make sure to visit the blogs of fellow participants. You may learn about a new weekend film to watch. Here are my selections for In the Buff.

I Am a Sex Addict

Monday Movie Meme,Movies
Having not watched this movie in some time, I don’t remember if there is full-on nudity in this movie but there is at least partial nudity and scenes that suggest that the characters are naked. It has funny moments but the story can be kind of sad sometimes...I mean, what is funny about addiction? Nothing. This movie may disturb some viewers, depending on what you can take watching or not but those that want a little primer are welcome to read my previous “I Am a Sex Addict” review. The description of this film is self-explanatory but those who still need more details can check out Netflix, Blockbuster, Amazon, etc. or whatever tickles your fancy, ha!

Hannah Takes the Stairs

Monday Movie Meme,Movies

I still cannot figure out what is the significance of two main characters sitting in a bathtub naked, playing musical instruments. Maybe the scene is intended to show how they finally realized that they have a lot in common, but, I can’t help but wonder if some of the scenes in this movie were unnecessary in relation to the overall plot. “Hannah Takes the Stars” is about a woman trying to find herself in a new career while also dealing with workplace politics and relationships.

Kissing on the Mouth

Monday Movie Meme,Movies

The “Hannah Takes the Stairs” director made this movie as well. I liked that one better because “Kissing on the Mouth” didn’t seem to have an interesting plot. Well, that and the fact that this has to be the only movie I’ve ever watched that made me wonder “Is there a reason that I have to watch this chick shave her pubes?” and “What does this have to do with the story?” but I will give it props for being able to find an audience, develop fans and launch the careers of many who worked on the film.

What films would YOU add to an In the Buff category?
