Jorja Fox leaving CSI

“I will remember you….will you remember me…” is the beginning of a sad preview to tonight’s episode of CSI. While the Sarah McLachlan song is a favorite, it also reminds me about the moment when TV fans will see Jorja Fox leaving CSI.

It seems to be a fitting tune for this episode, titled Goodbye & Good Luck. Jorja Fox plays Sara Sidle on CSI. Since it was not until late last year that I started to pay more attention to CSI, I am not ready for her departure. Her character is interesting to me and will definitely be missed. Members of CSI files have posted comments left be other fans expressing how Jorja Fox leaving CSI will affect the show. One of the fans (named Joe) stated that CSI will not be the same without Jorja Fox and the character that she played. This fan continued to say that her talent makes it easy for viewers to sympathize with her, as Sara Sidle is most complex and emotive character on the show. He also revealed a fear that CSI will lose its heart and become a cold rock of boredom and mediocrity without Sara Sidle.

While I have not seen most episodes of CSI, I can understand how people could become attached to Sara Sidle and enjoy Jorja Fox playing that character. I found out about her departure back when they were trying to find the miniature killer. While Jorja Fox’s reason to leave the show is valid, I still think that it is too soon. The TV squad posted on an interview where the actress said she wanted to pursue other opportunities. Now, some may not understand this reason, being that CSI is a hot show that is doing well. Why would someone want to leave a great TV show? Well, the same post from TV Squad quoted Jorja Fox saying "If I thought the show was on its last legs, I would've tried harder to stay the course. But I feel like it's going to be around for a while, so I don't want some of those dreams to pass me by." That makes sense to me.

All actresses (or anyone for that matter) who want more variety in their roles may not want to do the same thing forever. Jessica Biel left 7th Heaven when the show was in its prime. Still, she did her thing and the departure ended up working out well for her career. We may see Jorja Fox in another TV show that is not like CSI at all, or in a blockbuster movie one day. When that time comes, I am optimistic about the level of support that she will have from her fans. I for one, am willing to be supportive. Jorja Fox can do great things.

Still, what are we going to do without Sara Sidle? Aside from her character alone, I was happy about the relationship between her and Gil Grissom (Played by William Peterson). Sure, workplace romances are not that hot because they can cause lots of trouble. However, there was something about them together that made me believe that two people could truly be happy with each other. That belief was taken to a higher level when he proposed marriage and she accepted. It does not seem like that marriage is going to happen or even that their relationship will last based on the preview for tonight’s episode of CSI.

This is all just too sad. I will be tuning in when CSI airs tonight. It appears to be the ending of one of the shows beloved characters and actresses. However, this will not be the end of my keenness for Sara Sidle and the actress Jorja Fox. As the song goes, I will remember you. Will you remember me? Farewell to Jorja Fox.

CSI airs tonight on CBS at 9:00pm.

Ellen Pompeo Married in City Hall

Hollywood actress Ellen Pompeo and her boyfriend, music producer Chris Ivery just got married. It is official guys(and gals), she is taken.

The Star of Grey's Anatomy married her boyfriend of three years at City Hall in Manhattan, NY last week. The city's mayor was a witness.

This non-traditional ceremony may seem a bit abnormal for the average celebrity. Usually the stars go all out for their weddings, inviting their friends, family, other celebrities that they like and stars that they dislike just possibly just to rub it in that they are so fabulous. A wedding at city hall is so informal, but it may be the best way to tie the knot for some couples. Just think of all the money that can be saved. It is interesting that only a few city officials witnessed Ellen Pompeo getting married instead of at least one close friend or family member. The same goes for her new husband, Chris Ivery. Where are the guests? That is what some fans may be thinking.

No matter what they chose to do and how people may feel about it, the wedding of Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery should make a lot of fans realize that it may not always be important to have everyone and their mother come to congratulate a couple as they take vows in expensive attire, in an expensive venue and eat small portions of expensive food. This wedding is great because it is not about celebrity and not about other people. It is about a couple who loves each other and wants to be together. This wedding was about them, and that tops most high-end celebrity weddings that end in divorce a few months later.

On another note, I wonder how old Chris Ivery is. Ellen Pompeo is 38 and she looks great. Chris Ivery looks good and fit, but he appears to have a lot of grey hair. Could it be that Ellen Pompeo floats more toward the geriatric crowd? Who knows. Still, they seem like a great couple. Congrats to Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery on the union that was made recently. May they have a long and happy marriage. No, for real, PLEASE do not get divorced. We do not need another Hollywood breakup.

24 Season 7 Postponed by Fox...the WGA has done it!

The anticipation of this upcoming season of 24 had me very excited until recently. Fox has changed it's lineup due to the current strike by the Hollywood writers. The 7th season of 24 has been affected.

24 Season 7 has been officially postponed as noted in a press release sent out by Fox earlier this week. When the WGA went on strike, I understood their concerns and demands, but now it has gone too far. This has affected one of the best shows on television - 24 Season 7 and I am not too happy about it at all. What are TV fans supposed to watch? Dancing with the Stars? Get real. It looks like I will be making use of some DVDs in my collection during the New TV season after New Year's.

Apparently, the network does not have enough episodes completed for the entire season, which is "Day 7" and Fox officials want to present 24 Season 7 without interruptions. Although I do not like the fact that this TV show is being postponed, I do understand their concerns about playing one portion on January 13, 2008 (The Day that 24 Season 7 was Originally scheduled to premiere) and then the rest whenever they had a chance to finish the episodes. Not many TV professionals and fans alike would be satisfied with a half-ass TV show. I blame the writers in the WGA for this. It is all their fault. Hopefully, this strike will end soon and they can get all (or most at least) of what they are demanding from those who pay their salaries and royalties.

Now that I think about it, maybe this isn't the WGA's fault entirely. Maybe the blame should be placed on the TV executives who control the purse strings. If this is an accurate point of fault, there is a simple solution....pay the writers! Just pay them. It is a simple as that. So what if they want extra for online downloads, etc. because the current state of the TV industry proves that you cannot get much done without them. Therefore, stop taking all of the ancillary cash for yourselves and give the writers a piece of that action.

The drama, Prison Break will replace 24 on Mondays in the meantime.
I (and millions of other people around the nation) just want to watch season 7 of 24. That is not too much to ask.

P.S. I also heard that ABC's Ugly Betty only had one week's worth of episodes left before their show is put to a halt because of the writer's strike. Isn't it enough that the late night TV shows are airing reruns now? This strike is causing a mess.

What do you think about the WGA strike? Is it affecting any of your favorite TV shows? Leave your comments on this matter below in the comments section.
