A Review of the 50 Cent AYO Technology video

A previous post on this blog has breifly introduced the perceptions of 50 Cent's very provocative music video for AYO Technology. Here is a more detailed review of the 50 Cent AYO Technology Video:

AYO Technology is one of the first singles from 50 Cent’s “Curtis” album. The song features pop singer, Justin Timberlake. After finding out about this new single, I looked forward to observing the 50 Cent AYO Technology video. The rapper looks like a clean-cut businessman. Justin Timberlake looks like an assistant in 50 Cent’s empire. After watching this music video, it is easy to realize that both men are partners in a strange fixation of unknown and inaccessible women.

The 50 Cent AYO Technology video appears to be very dark in nature. However, it is an entertaining addition to a list of rap music videos that contain predictable elements. Contrary to the typical rap music video, this one has one central theme that does not focus on cars or money. Instead, the 50 Cent AYO Technology video portrays a fixation between the rapper, Justin Timberlake and sexy women in cyberspace. One popular blogger at Obtusity has described the meaning of 50 Cent’s AYO Technology song being about a person’s masturbation to porn movies.

It may not be easy to determine if that is the true meaning behind this song. However, the 50 Cent AYO Technology video does a good job of portraying the rapper and his pop star sidekick in a stalking frenzy. At first glance, I thought that 50 Cent and Justin Timberlake were spying on women in attempt to murder them. In time, I realized that their behavior is the result of a desire to get closer to these women. Still, many different perceptions can be developed of 50 Cent’s AYO Technology video.

The technical portion of 50 Cent’s AYO Technology is just as good as other elements. It is loaded with interesting digital effects and gadgets. The night vision shots add more color and brightness to this dark music video. As one woman takes off her clothes in one scene, Justin Timberlake wishes that he had some soft of X-ray vision to see her up close. Instead, his binoculars are able to do the trick. The same x-ray vision appears in another scene where viewers get to see through a car that another woman is driving. It goes to show that the 50 Cent AYO Technology video can easily appeal to male fans and some gamers.

Grade A
High end cars are about the only thing that makes this music video similar to other productions with 50 Cent or any rapper in general. One great aspect about the 50 Cent AYO Technology video is that it has an imaginative theme and neat design. This music video is filled with sexy women, but in a different manner. It is definitely worth watching for fans and average TV viewers alike. The currently most popular gangster rapper is a spy with his pop star, stalker compadre. There is not much more that you can ask for when it comes to the 50 Cent AYO Technology video. Male fans will enjoy the sexy women and digital effects while female fans will be glad to see Justin Timberlake again. The 50 Cent AYO Technology gets an “A” for great imaging and realization of a dark song that some fans are still trying to figure out.

50 Cent I Get Money Video - Music Video Review

Photo: Interscope Records

Gangster rapper, 50 Cent has released his third album titled “Curtis” on September 11, 2007. The track “I get Money” is one of the first songs released from this album. A music video for this song was also one of the initial releases to promote 50 Cent and his “Curtis” album. I recently had a chance to view the 50 Cent I Get Money Video in its entirety. While it was worth watching, this music video is not for every fan. It has a different theme and feel that one has to get used to. This review comes from a more detailed perspective of the 50 Cent I Get Money Video.

50 Cent’s music video for “I Get Money” has a lot of appeal. The song features work from Funkmaster Flex, one of the most popular music DJs in this particular industry. Therefore, this

50 Cent I Get Money Video has more of a nightclub feel to it. While lots of people visit nightclubs every weekend, all music fans do not. That fact makes the 50 Cent I Get Money Video more appealing if you are part of the party crowd. Video models are shown in moderation. That is one of the aspects of this music video that I liked.

A pretty thicker woman is one of those models, which is not the norm. 50 Cent definitely gets additional points for not limiting his I get Money video to women who wear a size 0 and have large breasts. There are kids dancing in this video as well. It is always nice to see talented children doing something productive and enjoying themselves. However, that is not always a good choice for this type of song. The overall concept and lyrics can have a bad influence on younger viewers.

The 50 Cent I get Money video is mostly green. It features Green clothes, green backgrounds and green lighting. These aspects match the money that 50 Cent is flashing around, which is also green, of course. Everyone in the 50 Cent I Get Money Video seems to be having a good time. Even the rapper appears to be enjoying himself. That is always good for viewers as opposed to one stale looking artist who just poses and recites lyrics to his or her song.

Nice colors and special effects enhance the technical aspects of 50 Cent’s music video. The green theme is fitting for what he discusses in this song. The street-like lighting works for this type of song. This music video is not too dark or too bright. It provides a good balance using colors and hard edge images. There is also an LED screen at the top and bottom with video clips in the middle. It provides a different look and feel to this 50 Cent I Get Money video.

The LED graphics also helps to separate 50 Cent from many of the other rappers who are out now. While these three sections are different from each other, the widescreen look is not appealing. Various phrases appear on the LED screen during this music video. Television viewers have a short attention span. The patience of internet users is even smaller.

Therefore, some people are not interested in reading partial I Get Money lyrics on the screen. It would be much better to choose one or the other. There is more interesting action going on within the middle frame. All of the extra LED graphics do nothing but create extra hype. However, this may work if you like all of that nightclub excitement.

Grade B+
The 50 Cent I Get Money Video has all of the elements that represent this gangster rap lifestyle. Those elements are money, hot women and cars. There is also a large entourage of guys who may or may not be friends of 50 Cent. It seems that many rap videos that are supposed to have a “street” feel to them include a gang of men. While it may help to portray some kind of street credibility and attitude, the large male posses does nothing to enhance a music video. 50 Cent’s I Get Money video is creative and entertaining. It get’s a B+ for productivity and relevance. Despite any troubles with additional on-screen graphics, the concept works for the type of audience that it attracts.

What is so special about the Alicia Keys No One Video?

Review of the No One Music Video

The No One song is one of the first singles released from Alicia Keys’ third album. It is a casual and upbeat tune that will keep fans wanting more from the singer. One great aspect of No One by Alicia Keys is that the song sounds much different from her previous tracks. Therefore, it can indicate that there will be fresh tunes on her upcoming album, titled “As I am”. The Alicia Keys No One video recently premiered on Yahoo, giving fans a chance to see the visual component tothis new song. While observing the No One video, there were some enlightening and disappointing reactions formed.

This music video will be sufficient for many Alicia Keys fans. She has continued to be a favorite in the music industry since the debut of her “Songs In a Minor” album. Therefore, the No One video has built-in appeal. However, this Alicia Keys music video is quite boring overall. It begins with the singer alone in the middle of an empty room.

She is then surrounded by musical instruments, followed by the rain and a cool colored nightclub and then Alicia Keys is singing in the street. The taltented singer is by herself in all of the scenes, except for two. They include the club and last outdoor scenes. After the nightclub scene, dozens of people are dancing in the rain to this No One song. That particular scene is almost similar to the Alicia Keys Unbreakable video. Still, there is no plot, special effects or extra actors to add pizzazz in the music video. Even the If I ain’t got you video had a story.

The different scenes add more excitement to this music video. Viewers get to witness different close-ups and angles that change quickly. Alicia Keys looks pretty, as always and her outfits are not as stylish. Instead, she has opted for a more casual and natural colored wardrobe for the No One video. It is a wonder if the singer chose these sets on her own or wore the selections of a personal stylist. Either way, Alicia Keys looks great in this music video. Her makeup is not too dramatic and compliments the singer’s beautiful features.

There are not many special effects or other technical aspects that make the Alicia Keys No One video stand out. Most of the images in this music video are soft. That helps to compliment the warm look and feel to this No One video. Music artists like Alicia Keys do not need many special effects to make a great music video. Her talent is enough to carry fans and TV viewers through a few minutes of entertainment.

Grade B-
Before watching the Alicia Keys No One video, it is easy to think that the song is about a man. However, No One may actually be about her music. That is one perception that can be developed after watching the Alicia Keys No One video. It is a nice music video to watch if you are a fan of Alicia Keys. However, various images of the singer are all that you will get.

The Alicia Keys No One video does not deliver anything special. It gets a B minus as a result of releasing something new to fans. If the singer was not as beautiful or talented and the song was terrible, this grade would have been lower. Hopefully, the next music video released from her “As I am” album will be less boring. It would not be a surprise if this video was rushed. The Album is scheduled to be released November 11,2007.
